Firefly Night was founded by Nicholas R. Gibson. Nicholas’ love of wine grew through the years as he worked in the hospitality industry. As his love for wine grew, so did his knowledge of wines through extensive study and research. As his tastes and knowledge became more refined and focused, Nicholas decided that the next logical step was to create his own wine. Firefly Night wines are an expression of Nicholas’ desire to share his fascination with and love of wine with fellow wine lovers around the world.

Nicholas and his highly experienced wine making team source their fruit from some of the finest vineyards in California. To create the Firefly Night Cabernet Sauvignons, grapes from all over Napa Valley were selected specifically for the perfect blends that Nicholas had in mind. The Chardonnay grapes were plucked from the vines in the Sonoma Coast region where the cool sea breezes create the perfect grape for the Firefly Night Chardonnay. In central California, the Santa Lucia Highland’s warm climate and hilly terrain produce spectacular Pinot Noir grapes. Nicholas was so thrilled with the fruit sourced from these vineyards that he bottled two different Pinot Noirs.

As meticulous as Nicholas is about grape selection and the creation of very special wines, above all he wanted everyone to share his enjoyment of the simple pleasure of drinking a glass of great wine. So when Nicholas decided to make a his own wine, he knew that his wines should have a name that invokes beauty, pleasure, and a peaceful state of mind. A wine tasting evening with friends and family provided the inspiration Nicholas needed to name his wines… While gathered with the important people in his life, the sun set and the evening became quiet. As the fireflies began to dance in the gathering dark, Nicholas realized that with each bottle of his wine he would love to share this moment in time… away from the everyday details of life…to simply celebrate, laugh, and enjoy the beauty that is all around us. The fireflies’ illuminated dance seemed to impart just the right feeling of carefree joy and peace… So in wishing everyone a firefly night Nicholas found just the right name.
